About
About Baromio
Baromio monitors websites, APIs and servers and tells you when one goes down, slows down, or has a certificate or domain about to expire. It is built for freelancers and small studios who look after a few dozen client sites without an operations team behind them.
How we write
The blog is for people who run client sites and have a concrete problem to solve: an outage they cannot explain, a slow page, an expiring certificate, a tracker that loads before consent. We write about what we have built, measured or debugged ourselves, and skip topics where we have nothing first-hand to add.
- Drafts are written with the help of AI, currently Anthropic's Claude, working from Baromio's own code, documentation and data. AI is what makes it practical to publish articles in several languages. It does not decide what is true.
- Before an article is published, Pavol reads it in full and checks its facts, figures and links against their sources.
- Figures come with a source and a date. Facts about other monitoring tools are checked against their public pages and re-checked within 60 days, or removed.
- The date on an article is the day it was published. We do not change it to make an article look new.
- Articles about Consent Scan describe what Baromio observed on a page at a given moment. They never say that a site complies with any law.
- Every language version states the same facts, figures and sources as the original.
